I knew the name INXS, which I consider it one of the greatest rock bands name:
-"Whats your band called?"
-"INXS"
-"In Excess you said?"
-"You spell it I-N-X-S"
-"Thats genius mate! thats fucking good"
I knew a few songs and i knew the story behind Michael Hutchence death, but it was not until i watched Donnie Darko when i became very fond of them. Donnie Darko was the only movie ive seen more than twice in one day, yeah, it was 3 times! We bought some candy, rolled a fag of weed and made some tea, it was day and it was bright, so we put on the movie, perfect timing. The first round ended up leaving me confused and very curious with a lot of questions about life and god and time travel. We went out to smoke a little more and talk about the movie, but we decided we had to get into the vessel again and watch it for a second time, so we could understand a little more, or at least try. The second round was full of interruptions, pause and talk, pause and internet, pause and munchies. By the afternoon we had to talk about it again listening to that Gary Jules song "Mad World" (I recommend that track), we were trying to chain the spots and making up our own version of the philosophy of that movie.
Never Tear Us Apart - INXS live
Now i love this track and i love dancing to it, i think it has a perfect compass for a warm, soft, sensual dance, and well the hooks are very sexual. "Never Tear Us Apart! Taratarara! and then the piano goes in again".
Third round? Well, one of my friends arrived and started to hear our talk about time traveling, dreams and god. She had to watch it, right there, and we were up for it.

I found out about Michael Hutchence death one day in Mtv.. they were broadcasting this sucky song/video of Smashmouth - "Walking on the sun" which is a happy song... and they put this banner on the bottom of the screen "Michael Hutchence, lead vocalist of INXS committed suicide, aparently hanging himself with his own belt". But it was like the exclusive news at the moment.
And that's how I met INXS.
INXS was a great band. I found out about them when they were just coming out with their first album. From that moment, i knew they were gonna do something with their career.
Too bad Hutchence did what he did.
Saludos.
One of my favorite bands Pandy, thank you!! What's going to happen with them now without Hutchence?? Is it true that they got a new vocalist?
Alex, yep; they have a new vocalist...one of those guys that won a contest called "Rockstar" or somenthing like that.
¿Whatever happened to old fashion auditions, anyway?
Saludos.
Imagine me winning that contest? INXS singer!!! haha
